What does ToolBrake do?
ToolBrake checks AI agent requests before tools or connected models run. Operators can set permissions, require approval for supported tool actions, limit model requests, and inspect an audit trail.
What works in the beta today?
The private operator workspace supports simulated read/email/delete tools, human approvals, an emergency stop, scoped agent keys, model allowlists, per-agent request/token limits, and conservative model-spend reservations. The Gemini text adapter is available only when the owner enables it and supplies a paid provider API key.
Can I use OpenAI, Claude, or other models?
This release includes a demo model and an optional Gemini 2.5 Flash text connection. OpenAI, Claude, additional providers and MCP integrations are planned. They are not connected in this release.
Does the emergency brake stop everything instantly?
It blocks new admitted actions and invalidates pending tool approvals. It cannot undo a completed action or recall an action already admitted to execution. Activity outside ToolBrake is not controlled.
Are spending limits a guarantee about my provider bill?
No. ToolBrake reserves a conservative estimate before a supported live model request using checked reference prices and output bounds. Reservations stay used after uncertain outcomes. Provider price changes, external usage, taxes and infrastructure charges can differ; monitor your provider billing separately.
Does an AI automatically execute tools from its answer?
No. Model generation returns text only. There is no autonomous tool-execution loop. Tool requests use separate registered routes and permissions; sensitive simulated tool actions require approval.
Is this SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR or ISO certified?
No certification or blanket regulatory compliance is claimed. The beta includes technical controls and transparent data disclosures. A production compliance program, contracts, regional requirements and independent assessments remain future work.
What is the founding plan?
We are collecting interest in a proposed $19 USD/month plan for one workspace and up to three agents, with that proposed rate for the first 12 paid months. This is a no-charge expression of interest, not an order or subscription. Final features, availability, taxes and terms will be provided before any purchase.
Will I be charged today?
No. We do not collect payment details, deposits or card authorizations. No renewal or subscription begins when you submit the form. Provider model usage is separate from any future ToolBrake subscription.
Can I create my own customer account now?
Not yet. Today’s app is one private operator workspace. The presale form does not grant access, create isolated customer workspaces, or provide a delivery-date guarantee. Multi-customer onboarding is planned.
What happens to prompts and keys?
Scoped agent keys are hashed, provider keys stay in server-side secrets, and operator login stays in tab memory. Model prompts and responses are not retained in ToolBrake’s model history; request metadata and usage reservations are stored. Supported tool arguments/results are stored for approvals and review. A live request is sent to Google under its provider terms.
How do I withdraw my interest or request deletion?
